making a best decision???

May 19th, 2012

Question by *live, laugh, love*: making a best decision???
Ok. at this moment my fiance and I are waiting for our reply for the visa for me to go and live with him and get marry in the USA. but, in the meantime, as long as i was working, I stopped going to school bc my dad said that as long as i would leave the country, its not longer worth it that i keep attending school. I am so sad for that. Actually, i am not working ( I stopped bc I will take some intensive class in another city in my country) but after that I dont know what I would do. My family just visited my fiance family last weekend and they met (both family) a person who works in associated to the immigration service and he said he would help us so he gave them his contact numbers. My fiance said he would contact him and he still haven’t done nothing. his mom keeps asking me to do it myself but I don’t want to pressure my fiance. At the same time, I am worry about it cuz I feel like im depending of what will happen in the future.
What should I do? idk how to feel about it.
I feel like my fiance havent done nothing yet bc he doesn’t have money enough like to pay an attorney that can help us/ or maybe hes not prepare to assume the responsibility of husband? or perphas of a marriage? I D K!

Answer by Ron S
I think you should first have a talk with your fiance. Nobody here can tell you what he is thinking about you or about marriage.

If you are satisfied that he wants to marry you, then you should start the immigration application process from your own end. You might wish to get those contact numbers and use them yourself. Find out exactly what the process is so that you aren’t in the dark worry about what’s going on.

Almost forgot. Talk to your parents too.

Couple of questions about immigration form N-400 (citizenship)?

May 19th, 2012

Question by nikki k: Couple of questions about immigration form N-400 (citizenship)?
I have a couple of questions about form N-400. The first one is, on the form they have you print your legal name, and then the next item to fill out says to write your name exactly as it appears on your Permanent Resident card. My question for that is what name on the PR card do you write? There is the name on the top of the card with just one letter for the middle initial, or there is the bottom of the card where the name gets cut off. So which do i use?
Also we are applying based on my husband being married to me, an american citizen, for 3 years. So do we have to send in 3 years of taxes? My husband didnt get here until Christmas 2004 and didnt work here in 2004. I had worked a few months of 2004 though and when we filed the taxes for 2004 we filed jointly, but i cant find it anywhere now and it takes to long to get them from the IRS. So would i be fine just sending the taxes from 2005 and 2006? I called USCIS and didnt get help from them so i hope someone on here can help
thanks

Answer by otis_flan
for form N-400 in section B they want you to put your first last and middle name I would recommend putting your full middle
name even if it is only the initial on your PR Card.
The reason they have that on the form is because you may have divorced since getting your card there by causeing a change in name or it may have been misspelled on your card and need correcting.
I take it your Husband already has a green card and has gone through all the other loops and hoops?
If so I don’t see anywhere on the form requesting anything from the IRS. The only time I had to pull those out was for
the Affidavit of Support.

In Part 2 of the form you should be checking box B unless there is some other condition not mentioned.
It also looks like the only section that has anything to do with
the spouses info is section 8: A-G
And then 9 is for any children you may have.
After that its the fun questions about Nazi’s and prostitutes :)
Any Questions send me an email otis_flan@yahoo.com
I’m going through the same process with my wife and have done alot of research and studying about Immigration Law.

Women Making History at the U.S. Supreme Court

May 18th, 2012

Brooklyn, New York (PRWEB) March 05, 2012

Whats The 411 Networks, a digital media company (http://www.whatsthe411.com), founded by Ruth J. Morrison recently made history when it launched coverage of the U.S. Supreme Court. Whats The 411 Networks is the first Black-owned media company to receive media credentials to cover the U.S. Supreme Court. Constitutional Law Professor Gloria Browne-Marshall Whats The 411 Networks correspondent covering the United States Supreme Court is the first African-American woman journalist to cover the countrys highest court.

With U.S. Supreme Court media credentials, Ms. Browne-Marshall listened to the oral arguments at the United States Supreme Court on February 28, 2012, for the cases Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum and Mohamad v. Palestinian Authority. Both cases focus on corporate immunity; expressly, should corporations be held liable for acts of torture committed under their auspices? What makes these cases especially fascinating is that both cases allege torture by a foreign company on foreign soil.

My mission is to report on the U.S. Supreme Court in a manner that is accessible to the general public and of assistance to scholars at large, said Gloria Browne-Marshall. I applaud Whats The 411 Networks for its willingness to cover the actions of the U.S. Supreme Court, as not enough attention is paid to the Third branch of government. The general population knows the least about the workings of the U.S. Supreme Court; yet its rulings become the law of the land.

I am delighted to have created a media company that facilitated this momentous occasion, said Ruth J. Morrison. Decisions from the United States Supreme Court affect the lives of all citizens, immigrants, and in these particular cases, people and corporations beyond our borders. And, truth be told, the U.S. Supreme Court is the most powerful branch of government because all too often, its rulings stand without Congressional intervention.

Further, in view of Citizens United, it will be very interesting to see how the Court threads this needle regarding these two cases, Ms. Morrison continued.

Prison …same as everybody else …its a federal crime

The central Ohio version — known in federal court as the United States of America v. Lilian Asante and Kwadwo Asante — is not so cuddly or tidy.

The Asantes have a 10-month-old son. Lilian Asante is an immigration lawyer with a law degree from Ohio State University. Kwadwo Asante has a master’s degree in business administration from Case Western Reserve University and, until recently, worked as a financial analyst at Nationwide.

They now face the possibilities of five years in prison, $ 250,000 in fines and deportation to their native Ghana. On Thursday, both pleaded not guilty to counts of marriage fraud and conspiracy to commit marriage fraud.

Problems With Illegal Immigration

While illegal alien and amnesty supporters state complaints from Americans about illegal immigration are some form of racism, there are many very real problems associated with illegal immigration.

We asked a focus groups of citizen activists who are engaged in the struggle to have America’s borders secured and existing immigration laws enforced to tell us the different reasons Americans are alarmed about illegal immigration.

Please review this list. More details will be added to each subject in the future. Please contact us if you have an addition for this list of problems caused by illegal immigration.
